Rule No. 1: Determine the type of corset product
Corset characteristics:

Decorative corset - corsage - cannot boast of such characteristics. In its essence, this is a top sewn in the form of a corset, including with the addition of bones.
Now our market is full of offers for corset products, while almost all sellers claim that they offer real corsets. If you have made a decision and you need a corset, you need to know the difference between a corset and a corsage. Visually, it is almost impossible to determine the difference from the photo, because the products are photographed on girls with a thin waist and in the most favorable poses:

The difference can be felt by touch. But what to do if there is no possibility to touch?
Rule No. 2: Check the product specifications with the seller
The corset must include:
- lining – definitely quality. This part of the corset will be in contact with the body, so it is better to choose a product with a natural lining (eg twill).
- several layers of duplicating materials - they are not visible visually and are hidden between the main material and the lining. It depends on the manufacturer's choice of these materials how rigid the corset will be, what tightening it will withstand and how long it will last. At the same time, the corset should remain fairly thin and not bulky, therefoer do not "bulky" figure.
- bones – metal or plastic – serve as guides in the corset. The appearance of the finished product depends on them, in particular, whether there will be folds on the corset during tightening, etc. The optimal number of bones for a corset – 22-32.
It is not recommended to take a corset with regilin – type of bones that are inserted into corsets. Regilin has an inhomogeneous structure; a few months after wearing it, it delaminates and begins to stubbornly break through the fabric along the edges of the corset.
- panels with grommets – lacing – with the help of it, tightening is performed. The corset can be additionally decorated with zippers and hooks, but it is not recommended to take a corset only with zippers or hooks – When loaded, they break very quickly. In a laced corset, the greatest load falls on the straps with lacing. Therefore, lace up the corset smoothly, gradually increasing the tightening.
- the main fabric – the durability of the product depends on its quality. Fabrics that are too thin cannot be used in the production of a corset, such as nylon. The most suitable materials for corsets are: cotton, jeans, satin, taffeta, leather (natural and artificial), etc.
- corset cord – satin or cord-braid. Ordinary shoe cord or satin ribbon cannot withstand a heavy load when tightened.
All corset manufacturers keep the production technology secret, but the principle is the same for everyone. If the product is not lined and is not reinforced inside – it is a corsage, no matter what the bones in it are.

- «Корсет без подкладки, ткань плотная. В корсете металлические кости, поэтому он хорошо утягивает и моделирует фигуру.»
Ни плотная ткань, ни застежка бюск, ни металлические кости не утягивают, они только облегают фигуру! Утяжку от 5 см может дать только изделие, изготовленное по технологии производства корсета!
Правило №3: Корсет должен соответствовать росту
У каждого из нас фигура индивидуальна. Для того, чтобы корсетная талия соответствовала Вашей, необходимо уточнить у продавца мерки корсетного бокового шва и сверить их со своими (см. фото ниже):
1 - расстояние сбоку от верха корсета до линии талии;
2 - расстояние сбоку от талии до низа корсета (низ корсета проходит по уровню косточек).
Для того, чтобы мерки были сняты правильно, на талии лучше завязать ленту.
Правило №4: В корсете должно быть комфортно.
Задача корсета – смоделировать фигуру песочных часов, т.е. уменьшить талию и подчеркнуть грудь и бедра. Для этого в корсете талия делается заведомо меньше стандартной. Размер утяжки будет зависеть от исходного обхвата талии.
В стандартных размерах корсета мы делаем наиболее оптимальный обхват талии – такой, чтобы была оптимальная утяжка, и не было ощущений дискомфорта. Как правило, для нерожавших женщин и девушек оптимальная утяжка для первого корсета – 5-8 см. Со временем, когда тело привыкает к корсету и становится податливее, размер утяжки можно увеличивать.
